Survivor Speakers Bureau Intern

The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum is a leading historical and educational museum dedicated to teaching the history of the Holocaust and advancing human rights to combat prejudice, hatred, and indifference. The Survivor Speakers Bureau Intern is responsible for assisting in the creation of multi-media presentations for our survivor and second-generation community. Most of the work for this internship can be done remotely.

Internship Status:           Unpaid Internship (available for credit), part-time
Duration:                            5 – 8 hours/week, flexible schedule. Available during spring and fall semesters, as well as summer sessions. 

Responsibilities:
·        Research survivors and their families’ stories, identifying key points and events for their narratives and conducting historical photo research.
·        Assist Museum Educator in meeting with speakers about their (or their parents’) stories and work with them to develop a concise presentation for student and adult groups.
·        Create PowerPoint presentations to accompany their talks, including organizing slides, editing videos, adding photos and video clips, and writing content.
Requirements:
·        Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student.
·        Knowledge of and interest in Holocaust history and human rights preferred.
·        Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and video editing.
·        Willing to support the mission of the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum.
·        Able to interact well with Museum staff and community members.
